It depends on if you were planning on buying a board like that or not.

My point is, $290 is no great deal if you still have to buy a board, who knows what a good price is in the Philippines, like I said I just paid $269 for the 4790K at MC, cheaper then anybody.

But then they also sold the 3770K for $249 :)

It's very, very rare here in PH to have stores that sells their parts equivalent to NA/international market. Parts usually have 15%-30% markup. Plus the stores that sell parts for great prices usually don't have a website, which can be very tricky when planning a build.

Sad life here, really hate the way on how things are priced. I envy y'all

The OCZ SSD is a real good buy. I would buy that any time.

The Lenovo laptop with the AMD E1 is only good for very basic tasks. The CPU is very weak. See this review.

I've read that the AMD E-Series was originally developed for netbooks. It's really no bargain, even in the low-end stuff.

I think you are right. They were supposed to compete with the single core Intel Atom processors in the netbook market and the dual core gave them a little edge. But now that Intel runs the Atoms with 4 cores, they are falling behind again.

I have 2 little laptops (10" and 11.6") with the Quad core Atom processors. They perform quite nicely but are no barnstormers. For basic office applications they are fine. One good thing is that they are very quiet because they need no fans for cooling.
