I'm in one of those states but amazon has not charged me sales tax, though they should have.

Until recently, Amazon didn't charge for sales tax in AZ either but then AZ sued and Amazon settled out of court. Now I get to pay State sales tax. I feel so privileged.

Here in Louisiana the state law requires you to pay sales tax on anything you buy out of state. You pay the taxes when you file your state income tax. I pay it every year.

No body but the retailers. People might see someone paid $33.98 at Newegg or $763 at amazon, but they don't know if tax was paid. They have that law where I live too. All the agencies mentioned are feds and can care less if someone had paid their state sales tax. I sure haven't reported, we have the nickname of "Land of Taxes"

No state income tax in Texas

In California they ask if you have bought things on the internet and didn't pay sales tax too. I have never had that situation happen
