A lot of companies bait you with sales only find it's the rebate game. With a rebate you pay the vendor the full price of the item and are then responsible for dealing with a third party company to receive your discount.

I call this a sham. To me, the vendor selling the item should be directly responsible for the rebate. Thus if say Amazon has a sale offering a $50 rebate, Amazon should be responsible for that rebate, and it should be instantaneous. Let them deal with the shell games rebate companies want to play.

    apologies for being off topic.

    Peace
The statistics say that more than 80% of the buyers never claim the mail in rebate. That's what they are counting on. And even when you turn it in, they may not process it for various reasons - although I never had a problem with MIRs.

I agree. I never buy solely based on getting the rebate. It's a shameful racket that should be banned!

Your exactly right Wolfgang, and this is why I call it a sham, and why companies won't give you the instant rebate. The get to have their cake, and eat it too.

Anyway I just wanted to make that statement, but there's still a lot of good sales to be had

    Peace

Yeah sometimes Microcenter offers some good deals, especially on their processors. Do you live near one?

Toshiba MQ01ABDH Hybrid Drive, 1TB with 8GB nand $90. Reviews are mixed. I have never owned a Toshiba but I do have 2 of the Seagate Hybrids, 500gb+8GB and they do offer better performance that a straight up spinner.
