    New build won't post

hi im having a bit of a problem.Just build a new rig and it refuses to turn on at all.Ive made sure i check that the headers are in the right place as well as the psu being properly connected and it is.Even tired taking one stick of ram out and trying them in different slots still nothing. The power leds are working on the case and there is a light on the motherboard so i know its not faulty motherboard. But when i push the power button all i get is a beep so i thinking it might be faulty memory but would like a second opinion before i drive for an hour back to comp usa.And also i tried breadboarding with just the psu, motherboard and cpu, still no luck.Does anyone think they can help me out?heres the specs:

    ECS Black Series A785GM-M
    AMD Phenom II X2 550 Callisto 3.1GHz
    OCZ StealthXStream OCZ500SXS 500W
    OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666 Gold Edition 2gb

Hello and welcome to WSF aceyR

Do the fans in your case come on?

Does the fan in your power supply come on?

Also after making sure all you connections are correct remove the connection for your power switch at the motherboard. Take a flat head screw driver and short the pins this should start your system and tell us whether or not your power switch is good.

I just looked at your MB.

If you can't jump the pins and start that thing you probably got a bad unit.

Elite Group have given me trouble in the past and for that I have avoided that manufacture for about the last 4 years,

    Sorry

Are you using the onboard video, or an add in video card ? What type video cable connection ? VGA, DVI, HDMI ?

are you sure? i always thought the error beep was a problem with ram but i can send it back to newegg and get another board if your positive. I've been using ecs boards for a while never had a problem like this.

IF no video or fans but you said the lights on the case were comeing on you may have a bad power supply.

With a unit that basically will not start(no fans come on and no video) it is more than likly the motherboard. But a bad PSU would be guess #2. There are power supply testers. Or you could use another known good unit to try and start the system. But it really sounds like a bad MB.
