@sygnus21

I love that case... I've been posting specs(they have changed alot) of a new build I'm getting ready to do and in all of them I've had put my case as the HAF X! Almost every one keeps asking if I'm sure because its "so big" "Do you really need a full tower?" That case is the best IMO!!

Oh and guys it really not much bigger than the 600T...lol

Yeah, but for some of us, the 600T is a little less obnoxious looking. I'm not a fan of flashy cases with side windows, and mesh, that looks like a mech warrior.

@ Parks you've made it very clear you don't like these cases. OK I get that, what I don't get why you continue to post about the case. And quite frankly it's getting rather tiresome. Please stop, you've made your point!!!

The only thing I said in this thread was right at the start and I acknowledged that it was a nice case. Obviously my lack of interest in the industrial look, and case windows doesn't deem that it's bad...just that it's not my style. I said it before and will say it again, this is a nice case. And dollar for dollar with the Corsair 800d, it competes solidly. And the 800d is a bit too macintosh-ish for me anyway.

No, you're not totaling bashing it, but you have no love loss for them either.

There's a whole lot of things i'm not into that's posted in this forum, but I don't post my displeasure every chance I get. If I'm not into something.... I stay away. Or if I do post, I say what I have to say and move on.

Yeah I can understand that. I was in love with Corsair's 800D till I saw how big it was, plus the price. The HAF X is big, but not as big as the 800D, nor as costly.

I love this case, it's not the prettiest, really do love the looks of the 800D, but functionally it does everything I need and more.... at a cheaper price

In the end you have to get what fits your needs, after all you have to live with it.

Sygnus21,
I couldn’t of said it better myself.

All my previous builds were in a mid tower and every one of them there was a struggle to fit something. This case was an absolute joy to work with. And it will handle anything I decide to throw into it. XL-ATX motherboards, extra long graphics cards, monster CPU coolers, water cooling…the case is pretty much future proof!

Aesthetically there are nicer cases out there, but functionality wise…this is one case that is hard to beat!

I'm going to address each of these posts individually as none of them are really bashing the HAF-X directly in any way, shape or form.

This response was not bashing the HAF-X at all, it was questioning why the original poster had decided that they wanted a full tower. I commonly see a trend in forums where people gravitate towards full tower cases, but at the end of the day...even a few years later, they haven't even come close to needing that much space. And in some cases, they actually complain and say, "wow, I wish my case wasn't so big in retrospect". So, my thread asking why they wanted a non-specified "full tower" was simply to inquire to see if they put much thought into their decision.

Then, a little while later, somebody came in and said, "Get a HAF-X for design and futureproofing". I simply stated that the original poster said they didn't really like the look of the HAF-X and I stated that some (like myself and the original poster), don't feel that the design is a guaranteed winner. It's not for everyone. This was in no way bashing the HAF-X as a crap case...it was just stating that not everybody agrees on what design looks best. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

For many years, full towers were the only option for clean cable management...but lately some of the newer mid-towers are also adding in these nice additional features....so you shouldn't rule them out right from the start. Again, this had nothing to do with the HAF-X directly.

I have every right to comment in these threads. When people are building computers and looking for advice on what to get, I don't see where I am doing anybody a disservice by suggesting perhaps that a mid-tower case might fit the bill.

I have quite a bit of experience in computer building and assisting others with their computer builds. I've been around computers for 25+ years...so I've gone from huge cases, to tiny cases, to cheap cases, to extravagant cases, and everything in between.

My personal experience has been that full towers are rarely ever filled to anywhere near full capacity. In fact, many don't have enough stuff in them to fill a mid tower case. The biggest exception to that of late is quad-sli setups and extreme overclocking. In these instances, there isn't really much choice. But I don't find many people building quad-sli rigs either.

As you said above, if I'm not into something I stay away. For example, I know squat about SLI setups and such. I don't use them, haven't had a need. You won't find me in a debate on video cards bashing SLI-setups.

But when it comes to cases, I do have an interest and I do have something to say. Therefore, I state my opinion. If the same question gets asked in 10 different threads, I might state my opinion 10 different times. It's no different that commenting in countless anti-virus threads. I honestly don't see where I have personally insulted members or done anything that would violate forum rules around here. Some people may simply not understand that many mid-tower cases are suitable in size and offer the cooling and performance features of the bigger cases, but at less cost and less size with less weight...therefore I hope that my commentary gets them thinking and making the best choice they can make with their money.

I'm sorry if I have personally offended you and your choice of case. That was not my intention.
