    usable memory problem

    I have 4 gigs 2x2 on windows 7 x86

it shows 4 GB (3.25 GB usable)

I have gone through msconfig and made sure the maximum memory was unchecked, and I've also tried setting a max memory amount, but it wont give me that last 750mb. Also my video card has 512mb of ram itself so it shouldn't be stealing 750mb from my system memory should it?

I see you have 32-bit (x86) Windows 7. 32-bit Windows cannot use a full 4GB of RAM. A lot of people report only having 3GB usable, so you are actually getting a little more than many. The only way to be able to use the full 4GB is to use 64-bit (x64) Windows, but if RAM is your only concern, you won't see much difference.
