Performace Decreased from7077 beta to RC

I had the 7077 beta of windows 7 and everything was running smooth. I installed RC early this morning as a fresh nstall but now i have "jerkniness" and random pauses on everything i do. Even simple tasks such as creating folders on the desktop takes around 5-7 seconds. As i type now in firefox i get some stutter for about 3 seconds and then the letters catch up to what im typing. While playing music in windows media player it sounds like a cd skipping every 5 seconds. Anyone else with the same problem? Any tips? I really dont want to go back to the beta.

Here's my specs Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5928 15.4 inch Laptop Computer features 2.0GHz AMD Turion X2 64 Dual-Core Processor QL-62, 3 GB of PC6400 DDR2 system memory, 320 GB hard drive, 802.11b/g wireless LAN connection and SuperMulti DVD+/-RW drive with double-layer and Labelflash support. It has built-in Webcam with microphone, 4-in-1 digital media reader and ATI Radeon 3100 graphics. Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium edition with Service Pack 1.

I had that problem a fews years ago with a fresh install of xp sp2 with all the symptoms you describe it ended up being something to do with a hard drive setting either in bios or in windows its self some like the hard drive options win 7 provides to do with getting higher scores on the win 7 benchmark test try playing with the tick boxes and see what happens you may have to restart after every change tho :-(
