makes sense :) and thanks for sticking through all my thickheadedness lol

This is correct.

And you dont have to run it that fast. Its simply capable of doing so without overclocking the RAM itself.

Win7 Pro - 64bit

alright, I'll have to look further into 1800 mem then...although I might just stick with 1333 or go up to 1600 cuz of the price and availability (Newegg doesn't have larger than 2gb sticks for 1800)

Mixing RAM
I have 4GB of DDR3 Ram right now, and I'm thinking of adding another 4GB. I have this ram right now, but it is deactivated on the Newegg site. Because I can't buy that ram anymore, can I mix it with this? Because, as far as I can tell, they are basically identical. Thanks :D

Mixing different ram
I just installed 64-bit and I'm looking to get some more ram. I currently have 4GB of DDR2 800 OCZ platinum XTC (2x2GB) with timings of 4-5-4-15. The problem is I can't find this ram anymore. Would it be okay if I got more ram with different timings and mixed the ram I have with the new stuff?

IE8 mixing up default icon?
Internet Explorer 8 seems to be displaying the wrong default icon for URL shortcuts. I'm sure it's a registry problem or something but I can't seem to fix it. IE8 displays a "World" icon instead of the normal IE icon. On my Favourites bar it's all world icons and in the Menu some appear correct...

Mixing RAM
I've been thinking about buying some more ram, because I have read here that some believe that more than 2-4GBs is needed to get proper performance out of W7 x64, but I do not want to waste what I already have. To be able to increase the RAM on both of my rigs, I would need to buy 2 sticks of 2GB,...
