Sounds like you have a component malfunction the best thing to do is remove components and test your machines parts to see if it would boot it could be the psu gone bad

just generally if a pc is failing to come on or boot ussually means the mainboard has went bad or possibly the cpu you basicly have to check each system part to determain the cause

if removing certain items and using your onboard devices to test if it still doesnt do anything i would be in the market to make a new rig just saying cause you could have possibly toasted something

well wicca i had that similar issue with my cousins rig he just wanted me to add ram to his system but when i pluged up his machine into the work station wiring his machine did not start thus i guess the power from the cord or what ever fried the board

so i ended up taking my old p4board and installing it with a hdd that already had the os so i wouldn't have to do a clean install

pretty much the lesson here is i tryed all options before i changed the board the video card the hdd everything pretty much his board got friend when he pluged the power up or when he up plugged it

i dont know why this happenes but im pretty sure your system is done i would look into replacement

but before you give up take a power supply from another machine and see if it powers it the psu could cause it not to start as well if a fuse has blown but if the psu isnt it and removing other cards and devices and just reverting back to the onboard plug ins to test

if all else fails you need to upgrade but chances are you follow the above you might get it to work again

switched it off by the switch beside the power cord so is there any way to fix it and if so can you go step by step this happened before but all i did was fiddled around with it by turn it on and off by the psu switch and then by the button and it switchg on but now i can 't seem to ge it to start

To reset your CMOS, remove the round, silver battery on your motherboard for 60 seconds, then re-insert it, then see if your system will start...
