Worse case scenario. Problem with your hard drive. Go to the website of the hard drive manufacturer and take the test for the hard drive.

Try running chkdsk /f at an elevated prompt.

if u mean when this problem occur, I do not have another choice to shut down PC rather than press on computer power off button to shut it down ..but normally when I am log in windows I shut down it by regular shutdown button present in Start Menu .

If you have Vista on your PC as well as Win 7, then you have two partitions for dual boot? If so, error checking in Vista will only check the current partition Vista resides in.

In any event, check your Event Viewer for errors.

I know that, but I scheduled Vista error checking application to check all partitions on my hard disk after reboot not only partition where vista resides in and after checking all partitions,it show that there was nothing wrong in all partitions including partition where win 7 present in.
