defrag c: -w -v worked on vista?

    The -w switch seems to work here on my computer Windows 7 64bits SP1. It is not listed when you defrag /? but there is also no error message.

    Another undocumented switch is the /b (boot optimization) which only works on the boot volume.

    Allowing the app to run with a particular switch option with no feedback and actually doing something are two different things .
