Another CPU Usage at 100% issue...
Hey guys.
Edit : Put my system specs at the bottom.
Downloaded the 64bit Windows 7 RC from Microsoft's website. Installed it (fresh install, no upgrades). Booted in first time, everything seemed okay, it picked up drivers for everything I had automatically. Went to nvidia.com, downloaded the latest nforce (motherboard chipset) and GeForce (Video card) drivers and installed them; drivers were for Windows 7 64bit fyi.
Hadn't really used the computer much longer that day, finished installing some of my apps like Office 2007 Enterprise Edition, Adobe CS4 Design Premium Suite, FireFox, PowerDVD 7, uTorrent, and some sidebar gadgets then started up a torrent and let it download for the night (it was downloading America's Army iso, so no viruses if your wondering that).
Restarted the computer in the morning after doing Windows Update, then noticed that after an 30minutes or so the computer became unresponsive. The wireless would cut out and the adapter would disconnect, then the mouse + entire system would begin to lag severely. Went to start-> shutdown, got to the screen where it says 'Shutting Down' but the circle just spinned for days. So I held the power button and just shutdown manually.
Now it keeps repeating the above, where its fine for like 30 minutes (sometimes less or more), and then when I like watch something on Hulu or install something, or just do something that puts a strain on the CPU, the CPU hits 100% and just sits there.
I checked Task Manager, nothing is using any CPU really, went to resource monitor and saw Hardware Interrupts were causing the 100% issue. So I'm not sure what the issue is here... I read some were saying it was like an HD Audio thing they disabled in Task Manger (tried that, didn't work), other's thought indexing (I'm sure it's not that), and then others thought that it maybe due to the SATA drives settings?? Something about it being in PIO mode and it needs to be in DMA (I read that in another thread).
Anywho, if anyone has any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated. I think I've given as much details as I can. If someone wants like a HiJack This log, I can get one tonight, but it won't show much, as nothing is running besides Firefox and some gadgets...
Thanks in advanced!
