There are cheap Celeron Dual Core or Pentium Dual Core that are plenty for browsing web, office or lite photo editing.

Still can't find what kind of socket that motherboard uses.
Miss the link I posted a couple of posts up?

    Intel® Atom

as well as what the sockets are for the two types of Atom's,

    PBGA437 vs FCBGA559
If it helps any the only difference between the computer you linked to,

    Lenovo - IdeaCentre Q110 Mini PCs/nettops

and the one that juliadoh has,

    Newegg.com - lenovo 3000 H Series H200-H1011/M19 (57091128) 19" Intel Atom 230(1.6GHz) 1GB DDR2 160GB Intel GMA 950 Windows Vista Home Basic

is the case, other than that spec-wise they are almost identical.

Got it. What a waste of product Lenovo! Great job screwing your customers over with products that are crap.

It's still a terrible design... If anything it should have been a single box setup, like all-in-one type designs and made clear that it wasn't a 'workhorse' type desktop computer. That Ienovo design is more suited for a Kiosk or basic office stuff.

They are also known as nettops,

Nettop - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

it just looks like Lenovo may have been one of the only ones to take it and put in a mini tower case.

juliadoh I sure wish you would of asked for help here before spending your money. If it's not to late. Send it back and get credit applied for another computer system. If you could let us know how much you would like to spend total. We can give you a lot of help that will end up with a wiser purchase. Also let us know what you plan on using your computer for.
I didn't even know that anybody made such a computer system that you bought. I would not try to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear.

You never responded to whether you did an inferior in-place Upgrade install or Clean Installed by booting the DVD and wiping the HD first as suggested.

Until you go fully clean with the install (you are in the install forum here) you will not have a best performance baseline to judge the rest by.

Make your Recover disks from recov partition or save a Win7 backup image, back up your files, gather you program installers, boot and wipe the HD using tutorial given earlier.

The installer is mostly driver complete, with newer arriving quickly via optional Windows updates. Find any drivers then missing in Device Manager on Support Downloads webpage for your model computer or device.

Install programs slowly over time to judge performance changes. Don't let any write themselves into msconfig>Startup as they become freeloaders on your CPU/RAM and can spy on you. I only allow AV and gadgets.

Use a lightweight free AV like MS Security Essentials with Windows Firewall.

Clean and order the HD perfectly with state-of-the-art free CCleaner and Auslogics Disk and Registry defraggers.

When you're done save a Win7 backup image so you never have to install again.

You computer might be slow due to several reasons like you might have downloaded some unwanted scratch from the internet or you system might be infected due to a virus or any other sort of malicious file. I would recommend you to use cleaner software(s) which will help you in removing all the unwanted stuff from your system which is creating unnecessary load on the system. Best soft among these are Krojam Cleaner , I have used it and I am tell you this from my own experience.
