    Windows Resource Protection

    I just ran
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
and it output a log file that has 25,298 lines. The prompt also said:

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS..Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
So, I assume that means I had a lot of problems with my system files?

The CBS..Log is a cumulative log file, the entries generated by the particular sfc /scannow will only be a certain proportion of the total file - It could be just one file. The only way to be sure is to check the actual log - instructions are in the SFC tutorial

If you want to make some sense out of the cbs.log, run this command in an elevated command prompt:

    findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log

That will give you a very reduced file and you will see the problems the system file checker could not fix.
