Deleting Temporary Files
When Disk Cleanup is run with "Temporary Files" checked, does Windows 7 only delete files older than one week? Therefore, does this mean I can routinely check this box when running Disk Cleanup?

I have the box checked and have never experienced a problem. I did not check to see the time frame used to delete the files.
Thanks, that gives me added confidence.
The comment when highlighting "Temporary Folders" in Disk Cleanup is that "You can safely delete temporary files that have not been modified in over a week".
So I am assuming Windows 7 is smart enough to ensure that only temporary files older than a week are deleted. Otherwise it is not obvious how to determine which are less than a week old in order to keep them. With a new system and wanting to "start off on th eright foot" I would like to confirm this assumption.
Thanks for the rep. I have been using ccleaner. It is really good and you can delete anything that you want. Why not download, give it a try. I will tell you What I have checked to delete and why.
With a new computer with no issues and lots of disk space that is lightening fast, I think I will stay with Windows Disk Cleanup for now. But thanks, whenever I find the system staring to slow down I will try ccleaner. Again, thanks.
