I also always read people stating how much cooler ATI 5000 series are than the Nvidia 460's. Hmmm!
Really? The 470/480s very likely hotter, but I always thought the 460s were just as good or better than the 5000 series, in regards to heat & effeciency.

Something to look into for more specifics.

They are Wishmaster if you read the testing.
It seems to get twisted around a lot by many of the die hard ATI fans.

I wasn't refering to anyone posting on the thread here. Unintentional if it sounded that way.
I might need to edit.

I know the 470-480 get up in the 5800 series temp ranges.

My 460 runs nice and cool. That was my point I guess so I can't figure all the criticism from the other side. Not on this thread though.

My core temps are a little higher than usual, I've been taxing my machine in a stress test now that I have it stable.

Normally I hang out around 14C (ambient usually around 22C)

updated with min and max temps after a while of regular use:

Cool temps but your CPU fan is maxed out.

I'm just idling.
It is weird the differences the different systems operate at.

I thought we would see more consistency in temps compared to fan speeds. They seem to be all over the place. Go figure!

thats not the fan speed you're looking at that's the cpu mhz 3220mhz 3.2 ghz the fans i have installed on the heat sink and system are 3000rpms it is normally round 2220 -2800 something rpm you have real low fan usage though

I'm not worried about speeds since my computer is very quiet, the only loud fan is the GPU fan, which I don't believe I can replace with better designed blades

I was speaking of LS's fan speeds maxed.
I was just pointing out how different the systems operate.
Nothing bad intended.

So my buddy asked me to post this regarding his i7 930 temperatures. He's running a ASETEK 510LC 120MM WATERCOOLER, but his temperatures vary among his cores. On average, his cores idle around 50, but each core has a different temperature, such as 46 to 55. On a watercooled system, those temps...
