My CPU tends to stay pretty cool. Basically anything Pentium III and older doesn't really need any large-scale cooling.

After 60 min of a trial run newly install ASUS Crosshair iv.
Nid the cpu cores are high at 51 arent they ? what is the max temp for the hexcore you're running?
If after a grueling hour, the CPU reached 51C, that's not too bad. (could be better, but not bad)This particular processor has a maximum TDP of 125 watts and a maximum temperature threshold of 62°C

Those are great temps.
That is a 125W heat dissipation CPU. The cooling is working very well.

Solarstar yours is a 95W. A whole lot less heat to get rid of.
Yes, it is 125W chip. I don’t have a screen shot of before OC but I think HWMonitor was showing 116W or something list that and after OC it is showing 141W. My max temp were between 51C ~ 56C according to HWMonitor during 60 min stress. I have nowhere to make an accurate measurement of the CPU temp I just have to take the BIOS and HWMonitor word for it.
I went up to 4.15GHz but have to abort the run after 30 min or so as the CPU temp went up to about 59C. So I back off and settled to about 4 flat. The true is my every uses of this computer will be nowhere near the stress that P95 slam on it, I could leave it at 4.15 but I decided not to.
Also I am reaching or close to the edge of Air Cool VS. Water Cool. I may consider it at some point but not likely. My Antec 300 did a decent job in case cooling department, it kept everything else nice and cool. My MB, NB and SB temp was where they were before I started the stress. With fans going at max RPM I won’t be able to sit next to it for very long during stress. All fan folded back around 750 RPM during normal operation so I am okay with it.
The motherboard is worth every cent, I still have a lot more room to OC but hit the heating block.
my board maxes at 125 w but was told in the long run upping my cpu wont make much of a impact
i know it would impact it changing the board and ram but just a simple cpu changed im told i wont see much out of it based on my current set up
I relocated my residence, so new house, new temperatures. Ambient is still around 22C, but the PC is no longer against a wall
Walk around local retailer and saw H50 next thing I knew I walk out with one
But after 7 hours last night I was try to get this darn thing to work. Just couldn't do it. I installed per instruction manual, Corsair Tech Video, Youtube. Also tried 1 fan 2 fan, direction of the fan(s) and re-seated the thing for 4-5 times. No joy
17 min of P95 blend my temp shooting up faster then Space Shuttle. I set up my Probe II CPU temp alarm @ 59C, by the time I ran from downstairs to computer room my temp went up to 62C in less than 30 sec from the time I heard the alarm to the time I abort the test.
Going to return this thing and stick with my good old heat-sink and put $85 back in my pocket.
