Merging Reg Keys

When I recently had a problem with a program that failed, I thought the problem was in the program itself, and after uninstalling it, I scanned the registry and deleted all of the keys that I could ID to it.

This was a mistake, because I later learned that the problem was due to a configuration error within my firewall, but even though I reinstalled the program I can't use it, because when I try, it squawks and says that it has expired, and closes the program without permitting me to enter the license key.

I have the program installed on my secondary computer, so I can search it for the keys, but I know that there are many of them. I could do them one at a time, going from one computer to the other, but I got to wondering how one might be able to do all of them at once, something like I have used previously with a file that I have downloaded and merged with a click of the mouse?

I am sure you thought of this and it cannot be done, but a system restore or system image will take care of it.

Yes, that would work, if I had an appropriate restore point, but I don't.

EDIT: As far as restoring with a backup image, the newest one that I have is dated 10-13-2010, and since it doesn't have a means to analyze programs effected, I'm not positive that it would precede the reg changes that I made, because my memory is not clear on this. I have always considered backups as a last ditch means of recovering from a disaster greater than this.

Now you have to dig deep. What you're stumbling over seems to be the counter measure to prevent people from reinstalling a time limited software over and over again.
Just realize that the "culprit"/trigger in this case isn't necessarily a reg key.

Probably true, but I feel that if I could reenter the directory that contained the license key as it was before, it should work.
