    Deleting Windows Temporary Files?

    Hi Guys,
I went to delete my Windows Temporary Files by going in Start/run and I entered %temp% and click ok to access the folder which is at: Yannik/AppData/Local/temp

After that, I realize there was another place with tempolrary files, what the heck! Can someone explain me why on Windows 7 there are 2 place with win temp files Computer/Local Disk (C)/Windows/Temp

I'm a bit confused with this, I know where are the internet temp files but I don't get why I have two seperate folder location with temp files? Can you please help me?

    Thanks,

    Yannik

The first address you mention in your post is the temp folder per user, in this case for user Yannik. This is the folder that most installs and programs will use.

If you look at your computers system properties and click the environment variables on the advanced tab you will see that "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp" is a User Variable per user and that "%SystemRoot%\TEMP" is a System Variable and that is the difference and reason why there is 2 temp folders.
