I have tried many if not all of the free defraggers available.....and I have to say, I've had the best luck with Auslogics Disk Defrag on my Windows 7 64-bit. Its fast, does a good job, and improves your performance. I also like and use Puran Defrag, I run its boot defrag+optimize once a month, helps a lot. I also use the two for XP and Vista. Also...I DO NOT recommend Piriform Defraggler...while CCleaner is great, Defraggler is not. I ran it once, and it didn't even finish defragging all of my drive, it finished while there was still 10% fragmented, what's with that? It happens on XP and Vista also. That's why I do not use or recommend Defraggler....

What "A Guy" said.

I downloaded and installed quite a few free defraggers and played with them. I read reviews and searched out issues and I found, IMHO, that Smart Defrag was best for me. Nobody's pick is wrong...their pick is what they consider best for them.

I agree, I just posted what works best for me, but others may work better for you. Choose what does the job right

This is the same with web browsers and security software....whichever works best for you is the best.

Defragmenter does not work
Running windows 7 Professional. I am unable to access Windows defragmenter by any means. I have tried Start Menu, Cmd Line, dfrgui.exe. All that happens is a very short burst of action by the CPU and nothing! I am, therefore, unable to set a timed defrag! It is possible that this is...

The first and 0NLY time I ever defragmented, I saw the tutorial in here stating that if it reads 10%+ after analyization, it should be defragmented. This was when my PC was practically brand new. I've used this a T0N, I'm down to a measly 30 gigs left of space..I ran defragmenter, analyzed, and...
