Windows SSD Tweaking - this good/bad?
Hi I just installed a dual boot SSD from having cloned an old HDD magnetic drive to SDD and touch wood it has all gone very smoothy and I can really sense that things are working so much faster. Like booting takes half the time.
Anyway, these are some tweaks I made from scouring the web - were these good or bad tweaks?
1) I turned off system protection: control panel/ system/system protection and made sure all drives are off especially C. Did this because you can make system images so system protection is just a giant waste of disk space.
2) Disable SuperFetch: Typed regedit in search, clicked on symbol then went to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchPerameters right click EnableSuperfetch hit modify and change to 0 and hit OK.
3) Disabled SuperFetch in services: went to Control Panel selected Administrative Tools\Services double clicked SuperFetch select startup then disabled.
4) While in Services double click Disk Defragmenter select startup type which I also disabled. *** This last one I read that I should make this manual but I thought that that must be wrong so I changed to disabled ***
Thanks!
