Windows 7: Intel 80GB X25M SSD vs OCZ 120GB Vertex 2 SSD?

SSD's better than spin drives. oh Yeah!
Certain things will be way snappier. Your gaming will not really improve, they will load faster and such, but the actual play time will be about the same. Remember games live in the ram and vid cards when being played. Some pagefile action happens but if your smart you will move the pagefile off the boot drive as well as all temp, tmp files, e-mails. Put your OS and apps on the SSD, put your video files, music and previously mentioned stuff on your raptor drive.
Install OS with SSD in port 0 and the cd-rom in port 5, have no other drives attached at this time. Once up and stable you can add other drive and configure.
Overprovision your drive and do not fill allocated space to full. IMO use only 60>75% of Boot drive.
Allow the W 7 install disk to handle everything but the boot drive allocated size.
Your gonna luv the SSD, just make sure you scope out SSD tips. You want to set it up right from the git. Have secure erase or sanitary erase handy, just in case your first go round has issues.

From personal experience:

Leave the pagefile on the SSD, Windows 7 rarely accesses it and you want it on your fastest drive, the SSD.

Leave the temp and tmp folders as they are.

I moved mine to the second, older IDE drive and I was unable to install my networked (wifi) Photosmart plus printer. Tried everything.
Ended up being the temp file location. Changed it back to defaults and it's been working fine ever since.

I have done these things, they help. Altho my 2nd drive is a standalone SSD. Boot is an array. I do not do this for performance. I do it to keep the SSD arrays writes down. I established a pagefile on my e:/ and did this:
Enable Lock Pages in Memory to Prevent Database Paging to Disk Tip and Trick
Configured to me the user, it works too! IMO
In my XP puter, I have a single SSD for OS. I again moved those items off the boot drive.
Some remove pagefile entirely, bad idea! IMO
Theres alot of discussion about this + and -.
SSD's are a great experience set up right............................

I came across some ads in eBay for this drive @ $109.00 shipped. The price per GB is lower than I have found elsewhere, but looking at the picture and size (2.5"), they appear as though they are designed to fit a laptop, or connect externally to a PC. I don't want anything more to clutter my...

Hi all, Just updated to newest firmware without any issues:D. TRIM is on. The only question I have is how can I check if TRIM is really working. I run it with W7 ultimate 64bit. Well I could run the Toolbox but I heard that W7 can do it as well. Any ideas? Thanks
