    What hardware does Windows use when it is "loading" a folder?


    What hardware does Windows use when it is "loading" a folder and you see a green bar appear at where the address is displayed at?

    How can I make the loading much faster?

    As I understood the question you can do that by buying a new processor and upgrating your ram.

    Faster HDD as that specific directory is being searched for all the files it contains.

    So it is a combination of processor, ram and hard disk read speed?
    What is the order of their importance? Which is the most important, which is the least?

    When a folder has a lot of files, it should NOT be optimized for anything else than General Items. For instance, I'll notice a clear increase in speed when my Pictures folder (about 11 gigs) is optimized for General Items, instead of Pictures.
