    System Recovery Discs?

When you create a system recovery disc will it take an image of everything that is on the computer at the time you make it or just the basic system information to get it back up and running! ie; os and the likes.

reason i ask is because i put off making the discs for about a month after i got the computer and had already loads of music and stuff on the hdd before i made them. i know the programs and that will all be gone and have to be reinstalled but im just wondering about the files and folders like mp3s and films.

    thanks!

The system recovery disks on oem computers are just an image of the recovery partition, so they'll just restore the computer to factory state. All changes you made after unboxing will be lost. Doesnt matter whether you made the disks earlier or make them now because the recovery partition remains unchanged.

    FWIW

The three most important words in computers are:

    BACKUP! BACKUP! BACKUP!

Those small external usb/sata hard disk drives in a small case with cables are a real warm fuzzy
when your hard disk goes south and your about to cry.

Ah that makes sense yea. lol

reason i was thinkin bout this is because i have already done a system recovery of the computer and it was obviously just me being stupid because when i transferred all my music back from the external hard drive i had two copies of everything.

I must of just done it twice by mistake. couldn't understand how so much music fit on 3 dvds aswell as the os and everything i needed lol!

    thanks lads!
