My 4GB of RAM is generally used up to within 50-75MB of the 4092MB. Shows me I should get some more but also that Win7 64bit is pretty good at managing things on it's own. Maybe the Intel SSD helps a bit too.

That cache will be released in the event the system needs more memory. For example, in that exmaple, if a game is started that needs 2 GB of memory, the cache will be cleared enough to handle that game.
