How do I combine 2 Hard Drive Partitions ?
A couple days ago, I resized my D: from 180gb to 30gb (it was only using 5gb), creating another partition in my hard drive with 150gb. The last couple days my laptop wouldn't even boot up without coming up with error screens saying that a recent hardware/software change could be to blame. Out of the blue it finally started booting up and working as normal. Since I am on my laptop right now I want to recombine my D: with my G: (the drive I created from the D: ).
I don't know if this is a good idea, but seeing that resizing my D: caused the problem, I would want to re assemble it as normal. So please warn me if I am about to damage my laptop any further.
Basically I am going into the Windows Disk Manager, by right clicking Computer, selecting "Manage", and going to "Disk Manager" in the left pane. I am right clicking on the D: and where it would normally say "Extend Volume", it is grayed out (un-selectable).
Also.
With my problem I had before, what should I do to make sure my hard drives are fine? Do a Disk De fragment?, what else?
thanks.
