See if this helps: Power Supply Calculator

You can also ask other owners of the card in their forums if they have one, or ask their Support.

Someone in our Graphics section here might also be able to help you. I'd also ask Google to see if it's a known issue.

Thanks, the site says I need a PSU rated for 683w. I'll ask other users as you suggest.

Mixed responses so far. I've had people definitely say it's the PSU and i've had people definitely say it isn't the PSU. The place I bought the card from seems to think that my PSU should be sufficient so they've agreed to get it couriered back and tested.

If it proves not to be faulty once they test it then I will get another PSU, although my budget for the month has now been firmly eaten away by the purchase of this graphics cards.

can't boot after load failure Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32

Interesting thread that I hoped might solve my issue:

I get
Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\srv.sys

and can not boot except in safemode as the system hangs after entering password.

Prior -
Lenovo y550p i7 laptop, Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit
All works fine on the 500G drive that came with the machine. The problem started after moving to a Seagate SSHD 1TB drive. The clone process left an unallocated partition of 500G. After re-partitioning to claim the 500G I get this problem booting.

I tried Acronis 2010, 2012, 2014, Image Drive, Clonezilla, EaseUS...

I tried both a straight clone leaving the extra 500G to reclaim later, and a 1 step that re-sized the partitions during the clone process. All end up with the same result.

as a test, I tried cloning the original 500g drive to another 750G drive, using both options of partitioning during and after the clone - boots up no problems.

I tried the Seagate SSHD on another computer - same cloning options - works fine!

So, the problem is limited to my target machine in combination with this hard drive...

I tried disabling the video drivers as previously noted in this thread.

been working on this around the clock for 8 days now - Any tips appreciate!

Peace

ps: should this be a new post/thread?

Did you resize using Easeus in order to gather space from the partition's left, since Disk Mgmt can't do that with its safer Extend feature?

The only totally safe methods to do this are Disk Mgmt and free Partition Wizard boot disk to extend partition easily with Partition Wizard - video help. All others can fail with data loss.

In addition any time you resize on the boot sector at the front of the HD, it risks requiring Startup Repair
to repair the boot. So confirm the Win7 or it's 100mb System Reserved partition (preferred if you have it) iis Partition Marked Active then run Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times

If these fail then post back a camera snap of Partition Wizard drive map showing all listings clearly.

If you want to reimage then wiping the SSD/HD first with Diskpart Clean Command may help to clear old boot code which may interfere.

I know this is a REALLY old topic but I had the same problem in the last week and here's how I solved it. If you have something similar to my configuration, it might help you.

The problem was that after the Welcome screen I had a delay of about 1 minute (or more), which is not normal, because I'm using a SSD. In the end, I checked what I have installed recently. It turned out to be a program for my sound card - Creative ALchemy. If you've installed drivers for your Creative sound card, you might have installed ALchemy as well. I did by mistake and uninstalled it, because I don't need it (no one does, ever). But the uninstall doesn't clear it all. Services remain - and removing them from the msconfig -> services fixed the black screen problem.

TL;DR - go to msconfig, click Services, check the "Hide Microsoft Services", and uncheck everything else, then restart your PC. If that fixes your problem - check what was the cause for it and bring back services one by one or five by five, your choice.

For me, it was the Creative ALchemy stuff, and I registered here just to tell you how I fixed it. Of course, clean your startup items as well. I guess you've already done that, though

Hope it helps.

Sorry for bringing this up after a long time, its an update, kind of ..

I found that there are more than one service causing the problem, I had to uncheck 3 at the same time.
I registered to this forum only to tell you that it helps and to thank you very much, you saved my life man !
God bless you..

Windows 7: Blank screen on boot up, before login screen; slow startup
After the Starting Windows screen a blank black screen with a cursor that I can move pops up that lasts a minute (shouldn't happen with SSD, used to be ~10 second boot). Afterwards the login screen will appear as normal and everything works as normal. This doesn't happen when I boot into safe mode....
