Link Buttons in Explorer

Libraries are great in Windows7, but I want to add buttons in explorer at the top, that I can click to quickly access folders without having to dig or use libraries. Anyone know how this could be accomplished ?

Hello Jerome,

You could also add links into Favorites in the Navigation pane like in Vista for quick access.

Favorite Links - Vista Forums

Hope this helps,

I never looked at Favorites in that way, thanks for the tip. Although QTTaBar is really what I'm after, but I have a question, I want to keep the tabs open even when explorer closes is this possible ? I searched the forum and found my question, but not my answer !

Favorites in the Windows Explorer navigation pane, is really the C:\Users\(user-name)\Links folder.

You could:
  • Pin the C:\Users\(user-name)\Links folder to the taskbar for easy use. -> Taskbar - Pin or Unpin a Folder
  • Set Personal Folder to Display as a menu in Customize Start Menu to easily select the Links folder from your "User-Name" button on the right dark side of the Start Menu.

Command Buttons In Windows Explorer ?
Hi, Is it possible to get command buttons such as "Copy", "Paste" and "Delete" to be available on the toolbar at the top in Windows Explorer? The only way I can get to these now is from the "Organise" drop down menu or by right clicking a file/folder name. Rgds Auld Bint

Explorer Buttons
Ok now that I have an "ok" start menu to replace the limited 7 menu, I now find myself getting frustrated with the lack of buttons at the of an explorer window. I would like to have at very least a delete button. I had been using Qtask in Vista, but for some reason in 7 the buttons don't show up...
