    PC very slow since boot!

    Hello All,

I can't figure out where the problem is. About 1 month back this problem started, I had Seagate Baracuda 500GB HDD and it started acting weird, sometimes it worked and sometimes it wasn't even detected. And finally after a week it stopped getting detected at all. So i took it to a maintenance guy and found it was dead as it was unreadable in his PC aswell.

Then I bought a WD Cavier Green 1TB. When I installed it the first time it wasn't detected. Then on 2nd try it got detected, so I partitioned it and started using it normally. Then after 2 weeks again it started to get undetectable. After trying a few times, reconnecting the HDD it got detected.

Now the problem of HDD not getting detected is not arising, instead a new one has developed. My computer became too slow. It would take about 20 min to boot completely, though in safe mode it booted very fast. My AV has also stopped working. I tried running SFC but it gave me some error "resource allocation service" or something related to resource word i cant remember exactly. Then i looked in the Event Viewer, there were continuous errors. One said 'DCOM server ....' and there was another i cant remember. But these two were occurring since the event boot.

I read somewhere that i could be a problem of Memory, so i ran Memory Diagnostic Test and found that one of the RAM stick was detected with hardware issues. So i removed it and continued with boot again but in vain. It was still very slow, so I decided to reinstall windows.

After reinstalling all the problems were gone and the PC ran normally for 2 days. But again after 2 days the slow boot started, and my AV is now again shown inactive with a red cross on its icon.

I have a strong belief that my MoBo is crashing, but then I am not getting certain about it.

I am attaching whole 'Event Viewer-System' log and CBS log. If you need anything else please ask.

Any kind of help will be very much appreciated.

    Thank You.

I would tend to agree with your motherboard is failing theory as thats what it sounds like to me as well unfortunately. Usually; if you get these types of issues constantly popping up after a period of working fine for a day or 2; then yes unfortunately it sounds like your motherboard is about to take a dump so to speak. Especially if after you install a completely new hard drive and then partition it and install windows fresh; that to me is a indicator of a system board about ready to die a slow death so to speak.

Yes it seems so. But the fact that Safe Boot works normally every time, puts me in a dilemma.

If by any chance it could be a software problem or some minor hardware problem and my MoBo is not dieing, because i want to be very certain before i replace my MoBo.

And one thing i forgot to mention earlier, S.M.A.R.T. command was failing and preventing the system to boot so i disabled it.
