    Disable Single Stroke Shortcut Key

My computer operating system is windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. Every time I hit the “w” key, it redirects me to:
http://pavilion.buttonredirect.hp.com/2.0/internet/en-us/index.html?VER=0&CYCLE=81&URL=http://www.hp.com and it also brings up windows media player in a new window and I lose everything I’ve already typed. Extremely frustrating. HELP!!! Just typing this short message has taken several tries. How do I disable this single stroke shortcut key?

lol, I could see how that would be incredibly frustrating.

After checking language, look into any of the HP utilities installed on your computer, some of them may have shortcut keys setup. You could try disabling the HP utilities from starting up as well by typing "msconfig" in the run command box

Also, if your keyboard has a "secondary function" button, see if you can turn it on or off

If that fails, maybe try plugging the keyboard into a different USB port

Also, it may have to do with the keyboard actually being damaged, as in, the w key is actually activating another key in the same matrix (maybe one of the f-keys or a media key). Sometimes a good mashing on the keyboard will fix it! (This is your last resort, obviously)

    Good luck!
