    No Popup From Taskbar icons

I have been having this problem for as long as i have Win 7, i think, but never gave it much importance, but now i am looking to fix it.

I do not receive popup notifications from the taskbar icons. For example, let's say my download manager has completed a download, it should popup out a notification balloon saying it has finished the download, but it does not happen for me. Softwares like uTorrent and OpenVPN becomes in accessible to double-click and are only accessible with the right click.

My brother has Win 7 too and he does not have this problem. How can i fix this? Below are my specs:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 @3.2Ghz
    Gigabyte P965-DS3
    ATi HD4850
    Twinmos 3x1GB DDR2 800Mhz + 1GB OCZ 800 MHz
    Zalman 9700
    Creative Audigy2 ZS
    Zalman 5.1 Headphones
    250GB Seagate SATA-II 7200.10 8MB
    Enermax 535W PSU

Click the up bar in the notification area -> then customize -> make sure the drop downs for your program doesn't say hide icon and notifications

Nope. For the icons i want to be shown with notifications, the settings are appropriately selected. I have checked all settings in that area, and there is nothing that would solve my problem.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

This is too simple to be the problem but do you have all icons showing in sys tray?

Nope, not all icons. Just icons that i want to be shown with 'Show icon and notification' selected for them.

But the problem is not for uTorrent alone. It occurs for anything that gives out a notification balloon, like USB drives plug in, failure to connect to network drives, etc.
