Are you using the stock CPU cooler? What case, and how many fans (and where are they located)? Did you assemble the PC yourself (install the CPU cooler/thermal paste)?

Yes it is a stock cooler. I have 4 fans , one for my cpu, one for power supply, one for graphics card, and one regular fan attached inside the case. No i did not assemple the pc myself

    Xnefoo,
Those do seem like temps on the high side. My AMD 965 Phenom II idles overclocked at 30-32c and hits low 40's when stressed. I would clean all fans and the CPU heat sink with compressed air and see what comes off and out. If after this the temps remain as high then we can help you through removal of the heatsink removal of the old thermal compound and re-installation of new/better compound and heatsink. Or you may use this time as a chance to upgrade to a larger heatsink and fan or even a sealed water system that is all the rage and helps a ton in making a cool running and quiet rig.
