All your questions are answered in this thread.
How to move paging file to another physical hdd in Win7
I notice you have just 2 gig ram and a dual boot setup. Upgrade your RAM to the max possible, that'll really help.
hey thanks for that. Really? So if I re-place the actual 2 GIG RAM to like 4 GIG that will improve things?
The issue I think is that I dont think I can go any higher, (for this make of laptop) but I could be wrong, (I hope!)
Thanks for your help as allways
I suspect you got me wrong. More ram always helps, as you may know the minimum recommended for win7 is 2 gig. The pagefile (virtual memory) is just a part of your hard disk that acts like RAM when the system falls short of real ram. A lot of folks with lots of ram even disable the pagefile, though I would not recommend it.
Adding RAM will not add space to your C: drive but it'll give you a performance boost.
FWIW:
I would recommend that you get a larger hard disk. 2gigs of free space is not much and I would be willing to bet that it slows down your machine. It is probably fragmented as programs try to store data all over your disk.
The price of hard disks is getting lower and lower. Just advice, not a sermon. <GG>

you may have a lot of 'crap' on your drive, using up valuable space.
try typing cleanup into your start-menu searchbox, and select 'disk cleanup' from the results.
this may give you some more room on your drive. otherwise, get a bigger one. :)
thanks...in fact i bought a SSD which is only 120 gig but it is really fast and quiet.
If I upgrade the RAM that will help wont it?
doubling your ram wouldn't hurt - but it won't save you any hard disk space. if you're using 32bit windows, you'll only get to see about 3.5, not the full 4 gigs.
have you deleted your hibernation file? that'll probably be 2 gigs...
Hibernate - Enable or Disable
f your drive is just a partition, then there will be no performance gain as the read and write head will be flying all over the place. But, if your disk E is on another hard drive then it would be a gain; Windows will be able to handle multiple I?O requests faster.
