does win 7 work smooth on via processor?

Hi all I hope all are fine

cant see why not. the via is at least x86 compatible, so windows 7 should run no problem

aero should work. my gf has the original hp mininote which has via cpu and chipset and it runs aero fine. u can always run the windows 7 upgrade advisor to check and make sure: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...e-advisor.aspx.

and that 64MB will be shared memory, so you can always dedicate more from the 4GB of ram that you have. its a BIOS setting

It probably has more than 64. 64 is whats built in and it probably shares reg ram as well.

ok so you dont actually have 4GB of ram, you have 3GB. Your Chrome9 Graphics is 64Mb shared memory, so that means it takes 64Mb out of the 3GB that you have.

You can change the amount that is allocated to the graphics through your BIOS settings page, which is accessed by pressing a certain key when your computer starts up (it will say on the screen something like: 'press DELETE to enter BIOS'. In the BIOS, you should be able to change the amount of ram allocated to your video card (have a look around in the menus).

I think Windows 7 should run fine on your computer.
