Creative is using two processes, first is called "Ctxfihlp.exe" and "CTxfispi.exe".

The description for the first one just says "Ctxfihlp", but the second process is the SPI (Creative XFI Module).

The Ctxfihlp is the help file, no biggy. My biggest mem/cpu drains are firefox, and sidebar, but hey thats what mem is for.

Yea firefox uses quite a bit for me as well. Thanks for the help anyways. I'll wait for a new creative driver I think :P.

I am using 7232 as well and I was having the same problem yesterday with one core at 50% and when I checked the processes it turned out to be Firefox, don't know why or what it was doing but I just restarted it and it went back to normal and hasn't happened since.

Just out of curiosity are you using a creative sound card? I didn't think the the P5Q series boards came with anything creative. Well my PRO doesn't any way.

I do know that creative drivers can be a bit crappy, and that they arn't always 100% compatible with new OS's. Vista drivers don't always work perfectly.

Yea its a Creative XFI Titanium sound card. The vista drivers work perfectly for this card, but the drivers for Windows 7 are only a beta, and like you said creative aren't known for good drivers.

Sometimes you may get a runaway java script on a page that can choke up a core. I've had it happen in IE too.
