    Dragging Files To Another Location

    Hi,

Sometimes when I am dragging a file or folder into another location, it will simply make a copy of the file rather than moving. This is especially the case if dragging to another partition. This is annoying because I have to go back and erase the original file that I wanted move. Is there a way where I can change this to where it does not copy but rather moves the file?

Instead of copy, do cut and paste then you don't have to go back and delete it.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I often have to do this over and over, so right clicking and selecting cut can become a bit laborious. I'm so used to simply clicking and dragging in Vista. On my old system which has Vista, I was able to simply drag to another location without it copying. Is there a way to get that same setting on my new Win 7 computer?

Use the right mouse button instead of the left. Then when you release the button you will be prompted to chose the action. Select move.
