Just out of curiosity I'd love to see the OP post a Crystal Disk Mark for both machines. :)
What is that? a benchmark program? both of my HD's are 5400 RPM so I'm sure its not that. What is this ngen.exe that starts for a few seconds and then closes. There's about 3 of them and one called something like mscorsvc.exe. They run whenever ObjectDock 2 starts.
Yeah, Crystal Disk Mark is a free benchmark for drives.

first off start simple...on your computers go to the windows configureation thing (forget name of the program) but its like msconfig or somethin like that.
set your computer to use all CPU cores for boot (by default it will only be using a single core, even if you got multiple cores) and there are a couple other options that you can set that will also (i think) help out, but the setting to select how many cores the machine uses to boot should help some, as the work load will be split among all cores you select to use for boot.
meaning if you got 4 cores each core (in theory) will only have to work 25% as hard then if you had only 1 core working 100%
hmmm really....when booting I have that enabled and my system says its booting with the multi core kernel....but what ever.....
