Well instead of starting a new thread, I'll just add my name to "the list". Wake from sleep doesn't work on my newly installed RC 7100 OS. I haven't even checked what Nvidia driver version 7 installed.
This seems to be occurring a lot. Perhaps an error with the RC?
I will throw out that it is likely a video driver, because when I start from sleep my monitor does not even register a signal. So the video card is not waking...... Oh, idea. BRB and let you know.

Yeah that is the problem I had on almost every build was the video card driver, specifically Nvidia. After getting that right all of my machines wake/sleep just fine. And they do quite often for backups, recording tv, etc...

I would really like to use sleep mode for the fast startup, so I really want to get this working. I am playing around in Device Manager, hoping to get it working.

Anyone have a link to DLs of the Seven NVidia drivers? All of them I mean, not the latest.

heh, I sent it to you yesterday. I know you were busy with Linux though...

NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Advanced Search

fill in your info. Get the 186.06 NOT 186.16. They did not wake properly for me.

No I got it, but it didn't work.

I am going to update my BIOS (turns out there were like 6 updates since I bought it), and then try it with new driver. No luck, and I will try the older. Get back in a little while with it.

I had crashes with the beta and RC when attempting to sleep. Filed a bug report with Connect and was told that there's a specific section of the storage driver code that could cause this. The recommendation was to upgrade my RAID drivers to a Win7 version.

Highpoint isn't going to release Win7 drivers for my RAID card, so I had to buy another card.

    I updated my BIOS.

At first it seemed to work, then it BSODed.
Second reboot and tried again. Froze at startup.
Third reboot, worked fine. Tried sleep and BSOD.
Fourth: On that now. I ran chkdsk which is taking forever. So when thats done, I will try again. I think that will fix it.

Did you reset all of you bios setting to the default after flashing? Do you OC your rig? If you jumped 6 revision on a flash and didn't reset your BIOS to default I would recommend doing that. Some settings may or may not exist or work as they did on the old revision. I would reset the BIOS to default afetr a flash, especially that many revisions.

The only BSOD's I ever got on W7 were due to Overclocking my rig way too high.

As for the video driver, I would just run the uninstaller for the Nvidia driver int he control panel. Reboot, then install 186.06. Reboot.

As for existing power settings, I would restore any settings you have to default. Create a new power plan based on the one you want and save it and use it.

After all of that, I'll bet it will work fine.

Nice. If you are still using 7100 i would recommend going to a later build. A lot of the fixes past 7100 fixed a lot of issues with games.

If you are using 64bit, go to 7229. Everything works great and it will last till Aug 2010. I play games as well and I am using 7264 but will have to rearm it up until RTM is released.
