Hello MyGalaxy, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Doing only STEP TWO in the tutorial below will reset the check disk settings to run at startup, and should stop it from running at every startup for you.

Chkdsk will Not Run at Startup in Vista - Vista Forums

Program Compatibility Assistant won't dissable
This problem came up when i was trying to install some OEM software with my laptop after a fresh install of Windows 7 PRO. The program is Verisoft security manager. Gives me a compatibillty issue with asghost.exe. I have tried all the fixes in this post bellow and none have seemed to work....
