What were you doing when the BSOD occured? That might help us to diagnose it

Also take a few mins to fill out your system specs so that we can see if it might be an incompatibility between a hardware and its driver too

have you made any changes to your system recently before this occured? has it happened again or was it just a one-time thing?

The first thing I would suspect is easy enough to test for - a bad memory stick. Boot up on the W7 install DVD and go to Repair, then perform the memory test.

    Bye.

Could you go to windows\minidump and get the mem dump zip it and upload it so we can look over it. If you cant find it search for *.dmp in windows.

    Thanks

I was having the same blue screen yesterday. I was trying to reinstall Winodws 7, 7229 and it would not let me. I got blue screened 4 or 5 times. However, I can install and even reinstall Windows 7, 7100. And even though I now have the 7100 installed, I can't upgrade to 7229 though I had it installed before. I thought it might be my 7229 disc is bad so I am burning another copy and going to try that. Good luck to you!

Are you overclocking? Going just over the edge can cause BSODs. Possibly some builds may be more OC-friendly than others if you're at the borderline?

P5 mobo's have issues with Win7 - more than most.
    1) Uninstall any Asus software that you may have installed.
    2) View this post on updating the ASACPI.sys file: Asus ASACPI.sys driver for Win7
