Takes a long time to load at welcome page

Recently, whenever i turn on my computer. It will take quite a while to load the welcoming page (The green page).
Usually it took around 1-2 seconds. I've tried updating windows and anti virus scan but the problem still persist.

Anyone have any idea what went wrong?
    Thanks!

    Im using home premium 64-bit

It use to take 1-2 SECOND?????

I don't think so unless your system was hibernated or in whatever sleep mode is.

Could be it is not going into sleep or hibernate (whatever those 2 things are) anymore and really shutting down. So when you go to start it up it has to do the motherboard POST (Power On Self Test) and then load Windows.
Which will take much longer then coming out of hibernate or sleep.

Yeap, it usually only took 1-2 seconds loading time.
Actually, if i were to boot up the com from sleep mode, it's faster.

run msconfig, and on startup tab, disable all and reboot. See if that helps. Do you have an SSD drive?

+1 on that question. That's usually where my machines will hang if the storage server that my mapped drives go to is unavailable/offline/mia/ohnoez.

related to that is network printers, whether its a network printer or a printer on another machine.
