Well, sort of - Resource monitor is much more accurate showing actual usage of RAM, and Process Explorer is also good. Task manager, not so much.

You are trying to fumble. Why don't you post a picture of your Resource Monitor > Memory tab and we'll see whether you have a problem to start with.

In the Start Menu search box, type mdsched and press Enter. A window pops up and gives you two options, to restart now and check for the problems, or the next time you start it will check for the problem.

Open Task Manager (Ctrl-Shift-Esc) and there is a link to Resource Monitor.

With my 32 bit Vista computer I was able to slash the amount of RAM used to boot to the desktop from 1.1 GB down to just over 500 MB and cut the amount of daily RAM usage by 67%, but I have as yet found no way to accomplish this kind of radical RAM use reduction with my Win x64 computer.

Not true, Vista is a great system and I love it. But one has to move on. I really do not understand how people can still stay on e.g. XP - or ME like one of my neighbors.
