    Start Menu Seach Box

Ok, dont know what happened, I think it was a windows update, but now when I type in a search, I get nothing, no results, no grey out results, nothing.

The other problem I have all of a sudden is when I stream movies to my PS3, the new videos are not there. I even added a folder called test and it wont come up. I have no problem see what I had in there before, but cannot see nothing new??

Thanks, but I get nothing when I type in the start menu search box, I get no greyed out options, it doesnt tell me no items match my search, I get nothing, just a white box? All that is there is " see more results " and if I click on that I get " Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item "

    An easy thing to try:

    Start> Control Panel> Programs>

    Start Menu Seach Box-features.jpg

Turn windows features on or off

    Start Menu Seach Box-off.jpg

Untick indexing service, and then ok. Restart system, and repeat and put a check next to indexing again.

Control panel> In search box type Indexing Options> Make sure your desired indexing locations are there:

    Change advanced indexing options

If no help, suggest running the System File Checker

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If you installed the Updates recently -- the ones that you think may have caused the problem, you may want to either 1. Uninstall those Updates and Reinstall them. You may have gotten a corrupted installation of any one or more of them. OR if that doesn't help 2. Do a System Restore to the most recent time just before you installed those updates.
