fix cpu utilization by closing explore.exe

Sometimes after I play a certain kind of video and then close the media player, my CPU utilization still remains very high even if I open task manager to make sure the media player has been closed. In this case it seems explorer.exe is eating up all my cpu cycles. If I wait long enough this will sometimes fix itself, but I find my ending explorer.exe program from task manager and then restarting if from task manager by clicking file/ run program- explorer.exe, this will fix my computer's run away cpu cycles faster then the way I used to do which was just by restarting computer. Didn't know if this was advisable or not though.

Do you notice the HD run on also? I found that WMP wanted to index all the media files on my drives. I'd see my HD running on and cpu up, then look in task manager and other monitors. Explorer was opening like every file on my system. I turned off all WMP indexing, the indexing service and switched to using Everything Search to avoid the indexing.

Use one of those process monitor apps and see if Explorer isn't opening and closing all your files.
