    Another Possibility


    Looks like some people have a conflict with CCleaner. You might look at this.

    Hi I never installed CCLEANER and I deleted that entree before - no luck. Ran SFC /SCANNOW and still no luck. Looks like 5-8 hours on the phone with HP...

    I'm gonna try this route now. Maybe a repair of the OS will help.

    Sfc


    Sfc /scannow may better serve you from the command prompt. Here is a tut.

    SFC /SCANNOW : Run in Command Prompt at Boot

    Already did that - mentioned earlier in other posts.

    I didn't do the one with the OS CD but when I create one I can give that option a try.

    sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=f:\windows
