Slow compared too...? Do you have a ripping fast desktop?

The thing that slows down most laptops the most (Assuming it's otherwise new enough to run Windows 7) is the hard drive. Update the HD to something fast or even to an SSD if you want to see that lappy start to wake up.

What are the specs of that slowpoke. And yes, an SSD can do wonders - except for the internet speed.

This is the boot time I get from my laptop with a 90GB OCZ Vertex2 - that is 16 seconds.

Firefox & IE8 slow to show, slow to load remainder
I have a strange issue where every webpage (whether via Firefox 3.5.2 or IE8) will always load slower on my Windows 7 system as compared to my Macbook Pro. Both computers are wirelessly connected. I've ran speedtests on both systems, and both come out the same - 5.75 Mb/s (down) .95 Mb/s...
