Nice scores Ash. Adding RAM to the netbook will help a little. But the Atom CPU is just not going to become a barnstormer.

The Desktop is great. It would merit an SSD though. If you have some Christmas money left over (you need a bit over $100), you could do it.

The atom cpu isnt the best, but then again its only a netbook.

Ashley, you have all your life to get an SSD - so don't worry.

My new Dell. I still have to update the M4 firmware.
Nice scores, can we peak at the specs?

Dells are nice, my old Inspiron is still going strong.
Essenbe is right most everything is proprietary.
Dave, those are the essentials of the specs, plus the M4:

    XPS 8300
    Intel® Core™ i7-2600 processor (8MB Cache, 3.4GHz)
    8GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz - 4 DIMMs
    AMD Radeon™ HD 6670 1GB DDR5
    500GB - 7200RPM, SATA 3.0Gb/s, 16MB Cache
    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64Bit, English
    2 USB 3.0 ports
    Single Drive: 16X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW)
    Dell 1501 Wireless-N PCIe Card
Very nice, that should run very well.

    Great rig

I bought it mainly because I do a lot of video encoding. And for that it is a lot faster than my old HP with the AMD 4800+. But for the rest there is not much of a difference. The HP was pretty fast too with the Intel SSD. Now my friends next door enjoy it and I can "visit" it from time to time - LOL.

i added win7 64 bit and 2gb of RAM to my HP mini 210 and performance was greatly enhanced. it's worth the money definitely. However i dont think it would be worth it for me to install a SSD in this thing because I only use it at school. I have a pretty nice desktop setup @ home
