SATA 3GB probably holding my M4 back a notch and ram is in dual channel due to faulty board but she still gets the job done .

Yeah, that's the boat I found myself in two weeks ago. MicroCenter had the 2600K for $279 and were offering another $50 off if you bought it with a motherboard. My "old" Core i7 920 rig is now my backup computer.

Here's my new main rig, specs for both computers in "My System Specs":
