I agree with all of you. Wei is not a bench mark that truly tests the hardware and all of its functionality, but it is a bench mark on hardware that effects windows 7. I agree it does not tell whether or not my graphics card is better than yours (it probably isn't since its a 260gtx directx 10), but I would like to know from windows, what product(s) I should buy to make my windows experience a 7.9. I know there is marketing, but I also know Microsoft should have a product to reach a 7.9, otherwise, how could they have made a valid 7.9 test in the first place.

I am in the right forum, right? :)

Ya, right thread for WEI discussions.

Due to the current level of CPU's being manufactured and available today, we'll have to wait for a while to get a 7.9 WEI CPU.

Just the way it is, it will arrive at some point.

Enjoy the fast system you have, as they are working very hard designing the CPU that will give you a 7.9, but, of coarse, they will then raise the max score to 8.9

That's true. I'm just trying to say wei shouldn't be such a pain in the a$$ to get a 7.9. It should be based on a correctly configured pc with top quality components. Thats it.

I just got stuck on the cpu score because no one needs a 2x 6 core processor @ 5.5GHz anyway. At least not for a windows 7 experience. I thought there might be a regedit setting or something I was missing (tweaks).

Anyway check out my site on installing my ssd and wei score here. I had a few problems, but it might help someone ghosting there old os and keeping the ssd aligned. I still can't find a good SATA III controller card for my vertex 3 SSD. The LSI 9260 seems good, but I want trim. I will post again if I get a 7.8 cpu score.

Nice rig, enjoy the tweaking, it's part of the fun :)

The new hardware components are improving by leaps and bounds.

The current levels of processing power wasn't imagined a few years ago.

I guess if microsoft had a "DOS experience index" back then, it would be DEI or Die. :)

It's OK. Btw., Optimus is unfortunately not fancyWEI aware. For Aero, it will offer Intel graphics, for gaming - discrete.

    Here's mine...
