I wouldn't worry about a .1 WEI difference chrysalis. It is only for each person's rig and has no bearing on another PC's score. Having said that, what is your CPU frequency? A Guy's is 3.37GHz and stock is 2.66GHz.

Sweet! I think you should RMA the i7, it should be a 7.9 too.

mine is around 3.47ghz currently I am also overclocking. yes the .1 score is no real concern I just pointed it out

However I am not sure if I am going to leave it like this. For a long time until I got my ssd I had the cpu on defaults which was all power saving features on, and turbo mode on. This had quite nice idle temps.

Now c-state is off as that affects idle performance and in particular affects ssd benchmarks, this in turn disabled turbo mode which made me manually overclock to compensate for the loss of turbo mode. This sequence of changes however has my idle vcore 1.2v instead of 0.9v and my idle temps are significantly higher, load temps have little change but of course the system is idle for the majority of the time.

EIST is still on tho but I had min cpu speed set to 100% in windows, I just set it back to default of 5% so it idles at around 1.48-1.6ghz now so will see if that drops temps a good amount.

Prior my idle temps were mid 30s for summer and high 20s for winter, currently I am at 49C.

You improved the SSD benchmarks...but do you feel the difference? If not, put it back the way it was and enjoy

there is a noticeble performance difference yes although thats from the cpu itself, whether or not I can also notice the extra ssd performance no idea, disabling c-states adds a whopping 40% to 4k read performance on my ssd.

If I didnt notice any difference it would already be back to defaults.

I get 7.8 for the i7-3930K (stock speeds) too. Guess we'd need the 3960X for that extra 0.1...

By the way, here are my scores. Might as well post it here too. (See system specs for more info.)

Yes, yes. I know I need an SSD... It's just not a priority for me at the moment.
